A shooting incident at Purok Tres, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City claimed the life of an Indian national and the suspected gunman, Mondayevening.

Police identified the fatalities as Sulkhan Singh, a resident of Stone Haven in the said barangay; and Bertito Hersaba, also a resident of the said barangay and the primary suspect in the incident.

Police Station 5 (PS5) duty investigator, Police Officer 3 (PO3) Michael Justin Positar, said Singh, along with his wife and son, were exiting their vehicle when the victim saw Hersaba approaching his wife with a gun.

Singh, who was also armed, immediately defended his wife and pulled out his firearm, which resulted in a firefight between the two.

Singh was killed on the spot after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest; while Hersaba was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), where he later died to multiple gunshot wounds on his body.

Positar added, they are currently investigating whether Hersaba was planning to rob the family./DGB, WDJ
