Acting Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III recently issued an executive order creating an oversight committee on women, family, and children development.

“The city government is mandated to discharge functions and responsibilities to deliver efficient and effective provision of the basic services and facilities to the Ilonggos including the social welfare services like programs and projects on women’s and children’s welfare, among others,” he explained.

Among the issues expected to be tackled by the committee include programs and projects implemented by the task force on moral values formation and the Iloilo City STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection)/HIV (Human Immuno-Deficiency Virus)/AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) Council.

They will also be tasked with relevant assignments by the mayor./WDJ
