2017 Negros International Open Chess Championship

Grand Master (GM) Nigel Short of England continues to lead the ongoing 2017 Negros International Open Chess Championship at the Osbron Hall of Ikthus Equipping Center in Bacolod City after recently defeating National Master (NM) David Elorta in 21 moves.

Among other results include GM Joey Antonio over NM Emmanuel Emperado in 38 moves, GM Duc Hua Nguyen of Vietnam over Jayson Salubre in 38 moves, NM Merben Roque over GM Tuan Minh Tran of Vietnam in 57 moves, and a draw between NM Rommel Ganzon and GM Srinath Naranayan.

Meanwhile, Edsel Montoya of La Carlota City defeated International Master (IM) Ronald Dableo in 65 moves./JSG, WDJ
