JGM MassKara Invitational

The 1st JGM MassKara Invitational takes place this weekend, from October 14 to 15, at Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS).

The previous report said the event ran from October 13 to 14.

With athletes from Manila expected for the event, JGM Finance Corporation chairman and BTTHS Vice President for Sports Jose Montalbo said he would rather see athletes develop their skills in Bacolod City before venturing out to the “big league,” which he identified as Manila.

“Some players cannot wait,” he stated.

Montalbo went on to credit himself for advancements in sports development at BTTHS.

“My main objective was to [put] the school on top in sports development in four years,” he said. “We have achieved it.”

“I also want to enhance the athletes in terms of their discipline and values,” the JGM chairman added.

A total of 36 gymnasts are expected to compete in the weekend event.

The competition is divided into four divisions, developmental, pre-junior, junior, and senior; which are further split between events, including freehand, ball, hoop, clubs, rope, and ribbon./JSG, WDJ
