Ramsar marker to be unveiled in Kabankalan City on October 28

The Negros Occidental Coastal Wetlands Conservation Area in Kabankalan City stretches along 109.52 kilometers covering 10 local government units.
A Ramsar marker for the Negros Occidental Coastal Wetlands Conservation Area (NOCWCA) in Kabankalan City will be unveiled on Saturday, October 28, indicating the area as one recognized for conservation and sustainable utilization of wetlands.

Before attending the event, executive officials of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands will visit Barangay Tibsoc, San Enrique, the preceding day, for meetings with Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office-Negros Occidental (PENRO-Negros Occidental) officials and Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr.
Among the Ramsar executive officials attending the events include Asia-Oceania Senior Advisor Lew Young, Qoloqoli Cokavat Paramount Chief Tui Macuata, Ramsar Regional Officer for Oceania Solongo Khurelbaatar, Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region VI (DENR-6) Director Jim Sampulna, among others.
