Rondoy robbery group member Rodio Tico, who was served an arrest warrant earlier this week, accused the leader of the crime syndicate, Alex ‘Rondoy’ Barredo, who was also recently apprehended by police, of rape.
According to the suspect, he and Barredo captured a woman in Barangay Mandalagan and brought her to a sugarcane field in Barangay Bata, where the group leader allegedly raped her.
However, according to a report by Bombo Radyo-Bacolod, Barredo denied the allegations, saying they have been involved with robberies but not rapes.
He noted, if a rape occurred, the victim should have filed a report by now.
Barredo added he is ready to face rape allegations if a case is brought forward.
The crime group leader was apprehended last week as he was heading to Barangay 7, in Bacolod City, to conduct a drug transaction.
He is currently detained by Police Station 2, where he admitted to being involved in a series of robberies in Bacolod City, Talisay City, and Silay City; along with facing illegal drug charges and violations of the Commission on Election (Comelec) gun ban.
Meanwhile, Tico was served a warrant of arrest on robbery charges.
During the arrest, police officers also recovered several sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
He is currently being held by Police Station 6 and faces illegal drug charges, on top of the robbery allegations./WDJ
