The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) further strengthened anti-criminality plans amid the ongoing MassKara Festival.
According to BCPO Police Community Relations (PCR) head, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, an additional 400 police officers from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) were deployed to various points of the city.
Vargas said every corner along Lacson Street is covered by the cops and, noted, there has been a decrease in the number of criminal incidents over the past few days due to the visible police presence in the city.
Following his recent appointment, a command conference was also called by BCPO director, Police Superintendent Roderick Minong, where he instructed station commanders to guard all residential and commercial areas of the city.
Law enforcement are also concentrating deployments in Barangays Pahanocoy, Singcang-Airport, and Tangub.
Minong directed BCPO personnel to conduct routine checkpoints and more patrols to further deter criminality.
Contingency plans are also being finalized for the expected arrival of President Rodrigo Duterte on October 22.
It was previously reported, the president would be in town on October 20./WDJ
