Businessman survives attempt on his life at Goldenfields

A local businessman survived an attempt on his life after unidentified gunmen fired at his vehicle in front of a well-known restaurant located at the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod City, yesterday morning.
Police identified the victim as Joseph Nazareno, a resident of the said city.
According to Police Station 8 (PS8) commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., the victim was driving his sports utility vehicle (SUV) when another SUV sidled up to him and began opening fire.
The gunmen reportedly fled in an unknown direction, however, the victim managed to get the license plate of the assailants’ SUV.
While Nazareno managed to escape his vehicle unscathed, the SUV sustained seven gunshot holes and shattered windows.
He stressed the motive was an attempt on his life.
Benoman noted, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is part of the probe into the incident./WDJ
