Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, announced law enforcement will show “no mercy” to those who violate ordinances during the ongoing MassKara Festival.
“They have the intention to sow criminality, let’s not show mercy to these people,” he declared. “We must teach them a lesson.”
Among the ordinances relevant to the festival include the prohibition of carrying deadly weapons, a curfew for unaccompanied minors, and the no smoking ordinance; which, he noted, many revelers are committing violations.
He said police officers guarding the entrance at various checkpoints have already apprehended bladed weapons and pointed objects during the ongoing festivities.
The city police chief said appropriate charges will be brought up against offenders./WDJ
