Seven injured following NPA attack in Janiuay, Iloilo

A Friday night attack by the New People’s Army (NPA) left seven injured, including six soldiers and one civilian, in Janiuay, Iloilo.

According to Philippine Army 61st Infantry Battalion (61 IB) commander, Lieutenant Colonel Sisenando Magbalot, Jr., the NPA set off an improvised explosive device (IED) as an army truck passed the town’s Barangay Pangilihan.

The injured soldiers were identified as Corporal (CPL) Ronald Peligro, Private First Class (PFC) Joebert Porras, PFC Ariel Ea, Cpl. Remu Lundo, PFC Peter Calugas, and Sergeant William Biado; while local resident Daisy Acanto was injured by shrapnel./WDJ
