Officials transferred amid PRO-18 dissolution

By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, denied the existence of a relief order for Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky.

“There is none,” he stated. “Otherwise, I [would] inform him.”

Earlier, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia denied reports he was planning to remove Wanky from his post, in light of a recent spike in the number of robbery incidents across the city.

Meanwhile, Binag said, with the deactivation of Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18), some high-ranking officials have been transferred to other police units.

He noted, PRO-6 Regional Intelligence Division head, Police Senior Superintendent Hector Maestral, was transferred to the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) for the Visayas; and former BCPO chief, Police Senior Superintendent Melchor Coronel, was moved to DIPO-Eastern Mindanao./DGB, WDJ
