Athletes from the 27 colleges and universities participating in this year’s Unigames in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, from October 22 to 28, are expected to begin arriving in the city on October 19, towards the end of the city’s Buglasan Festival, which ends on October 22.
“There will be fewer participants this year as a result of the second year implementation of the K-to-12 program,” said Unigames President Roger Banzuela
Among those invited to take part in the opening ceremonies include Filoil CEO Raffy Villavicencio and Philippine Super Liga President Ramon Suzara.
The schools will compete in 10 sporting events, including men’s and women’s athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, and beach volleyball; alongside men’s football and sepak takraw./WDJ
