The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) were recently transferred back to Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), based in Iloilo City, following the dissolution of Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18).
The transfer of the three police units, including the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NORPPO) returning to Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7), resulted from the earlier dissolution of Negros Island Region (NIR)
The formal deactivation took place yesterday morning at Camp Alfredo Montelibano, Sr. in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, led by Police Director Camilo Cascolan, deputy chief for operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Also present were PRO-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, and PRO-7 director, Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Moises Mabanag.
Meanwhile, outgoing Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) director, Police Chief Superintendent Edmund Gonzales, said members of the Regional Public Safety Battalion-18 (RPSB-18) will be evenly distributed between the two regions./WDJ
