The Iloilo City government, led by acting Mayor Jose Espinosa III, recently turned over rewards in the amount of P500,000 for informants and P300,000 for police, following last month’s termination of Western Visayas drug lord Richard ‘Buang’ Prevendido.
“We are appealing for the cooperation of everyone for the anti-drug campaign,” said the acting mayor. “This is for the relentless drug campaign of the city.”
Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. earlier granted a P1 million reward to the confidential informant and the arresting police team, with the informant receiving half of the amount; while the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), led by Police Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, were awarded the other half.
Espinosa noted, the reward from the city was sourced from a confidential fund./WDJ
