A senior citizen and two suspected robbers were arrested in a Friday night buy-bust operation at Purok Pilit, Barangay 6, Bacolod City.
Authorities identified one of the suspects as 27-year-old Teddy Mar Carmona, a resident of the said purok and the subject of the operation. He was apprehended alongside 62-year-old Rudy Carmona, the father of the primary subject, also a resident of the said area; and 35-year-old Jomar ‘Jom’ Vargas, a resident of Purok Seaside, Barangay Tangub in the said city.
According to Police Station 2 (PS2), the Carmonas were caught using illegal drugs with notorious robber Alex ‘Rondoy’ Barredo.
After exchanging gunfire with police, Barredo escaped with a certain “Jug-Jug.” However, police were able to nab Vargas, who is said to be an accomplice of Barredo.
Recovered from the suspects were five sachets of suspected shabu with a market value of P10,000, a .38 caliber of firearm and five units of live ammunition, P500 in buy-bust money, P70 of different denominations believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, motorcycles, a helmet, a face mask, and gloves believed to be used by the suspects during robberies.
Currently, the station is conducting a man-hunt operation in pursuit of the escaped suspects, while the three arrested are currently being detained by PS2 and face drug-related charges./WDJ
