A four-year-old boy drowned in a creek Friday afternoon at La Bamba, Sitio Bunga, Barangay Orong, Kabankalan City.
Police identified the victim as Fritz Allyn Eloro of the said area.
According to the Kabankalan City Police Station, the father of the fatality, identified as 27-year-old Allier Anthony Eloro, visited the station to report the incident.
The father said his son was playing by the edge of the creek, when his slipper was swept into the water. In an attempt to retrieve the slipper, the boy fell into the water and was swept away by the current.
The younger Eloro was retrieved at Sitio Malasbalas in the said barangay and was rushed to a hospital in Kabankalan City. However, he was declared dead on arrival by medical staff./WDJ
