Based on data released by the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO), dengue cases in the city have dropped by 20 percent.
Assistant City Health Officer, Dr. Jovie Vergara, said 1,281 cases have been recorded this year between January and September, down from 1,599 during the same period last year.
Barangay Mansilingan currently has the highest number of recorded incidents with 122, followed by Mandalagan with 94 and Taculing with 93.
Meanwhile, CHO has also recorded nine fatalities this year.
Vergara added, the agency is still monitoring for cases and continues its campaign to local barangays, urging them to clean their surroundings regularly in order to eliminate possible breeding grounds for dengue-carrying mosquitoes./WDJ
