Reports released by various divisions of the Philippine National Police (PNP) found the drugs seized from the recent raid of a home owned by Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Joshua Barile tested positive for shabu.
A report from the Negros Occidental Provincial Crime Laboratory Office found the crystalline substance, which weighed nearly 10 grams, tested positive for shabu.
A separate report from the PNP Civil Security Group found no record for Barile as a licensed firearm holder; however, the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) Firearms Information Management System pulled up a record for a “Joshua Barile, Sr. y Tupas” of 7 Rosario-Amapola in Bacolod City, whose firearms license expired in December 2005.
The residence for the Barile in question is located in the Regent Pearl Subdivision in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.
Last week, NBI operatives raided Barile’s home at the aforementioned subdivision, where several high-powered firearms, explosives, and drugs were recovered.
The police officer currently faces murder charges for the killing of Wilmar and Wilfredo Serenio, the brother and father, respectively, of former Berya drug group member Ricky Serenio. Following the raid, he was slapped with additional charges of illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and explosives, as well as possession of illegal drugs./WDJ
