A man, who was accompanied by minors, was assaulted by two men in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, Monday.
Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Andrew Tayapad, a resident of Purok San Antonio, Barangay Tangub in the said city.
Authorities withheld the names of the minors.
According to Police Station 8 (PS8), the victims were walking when they noticed 19-year-old Mark Jun Arca of Purok Crossing 8, Barangay Tangub, sharpening a knife on a cement gutter.
The suspect chased the victims, in an attempted hacking attack; while in pursuit, a mobile phone worth P3,300 fell, which Arca picked up.
A second suspect, identified as 18-year-old John Mark Cuyno of Purok Tapulanga, Barangay Singcang-Airport, allegedly fired at the victims with a pen gun.
Police are currently conducting a follow-up operation into the arrest of the suspects./WDJ
