La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor Mangilimutan yesterday requested the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to validate claims made against La Castellana Town Councilor Alberto ‘White’ Nicor III, the mayor’s brother, linking him to the illegal drug trade.
In a letter to PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino, the mayor recounted the allegations made by Moises Padilla municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Alan Reloj, claiming her brother was named as the supplier for suspects arrested in a San Enrique buy-bust operation.
However, Nicor Mangilimutan noted, she reportedly heard the said suspects retracted their statement, claiming they were compelled to name Nicor by Reloj.
The retraction, she added, was documented by the suspects’ lawyer.
“I therefore request your office to validate the claims made by Reloj,” she stated in her letter.
Earlier, the town councilor had been cleared by La Castellana municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Irma Teozon; along with providing the results of two recent drug tests that show he tested negative for illegal drugs./WDJ
