OFWs from Iloilo send P12B worth of remittances every year

According to non-governmental organization Atikha Overseas Workers and Communities Initiative, Inc. (Atikha), overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Iloilo are some of the highest contributors of remittances every year, sending around P12 billion.

Atikha Area Coordinator Jose Reso, Jr. recently spoke at a financial management training for Ilonggo OFWs, which was set up by his organization, the Iloilo Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Region VI (OWWA-6).

Meanwhile, PESO-Iloilo chief Francisco Heler said the Iloilo provincial government is a signatory to the national government’s Migration and Development Integration (MDI) program./WDJ
