Iloilo City police are currently conducting an investigation after unidentified men allegedly left a hand grenade at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) location in the Jaro district of Iloilo City, late Sunday evening.

According to Vincent Fiolog, a security guard for the said office, he and Jeffrey Dana, another guard, were monitoring the parking area when they saw a motorcycle sped across the rear area of the compound.

He later reported hearing a loud thump on the LTO patrol car.

Upon inspection, the two discovered an Mk 2 fragmentation grenade.

Fiolog immediately contacted the city’s explosives and ordnance division (EOD) to have the device safely recovered.

LTO-6 Director Roland Ramos, meanwhile, called the situation a “threat,” pointing out the grenade’s pin was taped.

However, the director said he has not received any threats nor been involved in any confrontations since his assignment to the post./DGB, WDJ
