Traffic rerouted for event

The Regional Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development-6 (RACPTD-6), in partnership with the City Youth Development Division (CYDD) of the Iloilo City government, will host a fun run today, September 23, at SM City Iloilo Southpoint.

The activity, which runs from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., seeks to raise funds to provide legal assistance for Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) personnel facing administrative and criminal charges.

“Some police officers in Western Visayas need help for legal assistance,” said CYDD head Jason Gregorio.

“RACPTD-6 will manage the fund,” he explained. “We will set qualifications and requirements for us to have basis on who is qualified to avail the [assistance].”

The activity will be divided into a 3K and 5K.

Meanwhile, the Iloilo City Council previously passed an ordinance that redirects traffic for the event.

Vehicular traffic is barred along the right lane of Benigno Aquino Avenue (facing Infante fly-over from SM City) from Taft North, Mandurriao; the entire stretch of Donato Pison Avenue in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao until the Quixmart Convenience Store; and along West Avenue (formerly Infante Extension) in Barangay Taal, Molo./WDJ
