PENRO, DENR, DPWH working to ensure mangroves are protected amid esplanade projects

During the recent Iloilo-Batiano River Development Council meeting, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Raul Lorilla assured the ongoing esplanade projects throughout Iloilo City are being conducted with measures to ensure mangrove plantations are protected.

According to a release, both the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region VI (DENR-6) and the Department of Public Works and Highways-Region VI (DPWH-6) are working to ensure water continues to flow to mangrove areas.

Following Esplanade 1 and 2, in the Mandurriao and Molo districts, respectively, upon completion, the city will boast a total nine esplanades./WDJ
