Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, recently met with the 10 Bacolod City police station chiefs to reiterate local law enforcement’s focus on combating theft and robbery incidents in the city.

“Focus more on police visibility [and] manage your personnel – they should be deployed in crime-prone areas,” the BCPO director stated.

He also discussed the deployment of “Intelligencia,” a covert patrol that employs informants in tracking down suspects. The said group will also have motorcycles at their disposal, to be used to pursue riding-in-tandem suspects.

Wanky also advised the Police Community Relations branch to encourage community support, especially when it comes to filing charges against captured suspects. He noted, without criminal charges, police are obligated to release the suspect, who will likely continue their criminal behavior.

He also emphasized patrol duties, where police are deployed to strategic areas of the city./WDJ
