The Iloilo City government yesterday distributed 17 patrol cars, to be utilized by barangay tanods.
“These barangay patrol cars are a big help to our barangay officials for mobility and easier response to emergencies,” said Iloilo City Acting Mayor Jose Espinosa III, who led the turnover ceremony.
This event was the last in a series of distributions, which has resulted in all barangays in the city being equipped with the said patrol vehicle.
Among the barangays in the most recent batch include Barangays Bonifacio, Mohon, and San Jose in the Arevalo district; Osmeña, Arsenal-Aduana, Danao, Legaspi-Dela Rama, President Roxas, Nonoy, and Yulo Arroyo in the City Proper district; Laguda and Rizal in the La Paz district; Ma. Cristina, Sta. Isabel, San Jose, and Seminario in the Jaro district; and Progreso in the Lapuz district.
Espinosa reminded barangay officials to use the patrol cars for public purposes and not for personal use./WDJ
