After recently receiving a copy of the Iloilo City Council resolution commending local law enforcement for the termination of top Western Visayas drug lord Richard ‘Buang’ Prevendido, which occurred earlier this month in the Jaro district of Iloilo City, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, said the slain drug lord has connections still operating in Panay.
He said ongoing police investigations revealed personalities in Antique and Capiz, along with Cotabato City in Maguindanao, had links with Prevendido.
“There are many of them [still operating] and we have to watch out for these individuals,” said Tayaba. “We are working hard to know these personalities.”
Meanwhile, after acknowledging the recognition, the IPPO chief said, “We thank the honorable council for acknowledging our efforts and accomplishments.”
During the operation to capture the drug lord, Tayaba led a team of IPPO police officers, alongside forces from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO)./WDJ
