The Department of Tourism (DOT) will be conducting an accommodation capacity survey, from October 1 to 31, by conducting an inventory of both existing and under construction establishments in the area, in an effort to help business, policy makers, and investors with information regarding room capacity, facility availability, and employment potential in the accommodation sector.
“The comfort and well-being of our visitors should always come first,” said DOT-Region VI (DOT-6) director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas. “We want them to spend more days in the region and bring more members of the family and friends to experience the best of Western Visayan hospitality.”
In 2016, there were a total 27,831 existing room accommodations, along with 1,190 new rooms in the Western Visayas. Among provinces, Aklan had the most rooms with 12,602, followed by Negros Occidental with 5,466./WDJ
