The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it will still proceed with scheduled activities in preparation for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections, despite the House of Representatives recently approving postponement of the polls.
With the elections planned for October 23, Abang Lingkod Party-list Rep. Stephen Paduano said there is still ample time for the bill to pass both chambers of Congress.
The Comelec recently announced they would implement the election gun ban this weekend, September 23, the first day certificates of candidacy can be filed.
Last week, the House of Representatives approved, on its third and final reading, the postponement of this year’s barangay and SK elections by a vote of 213-10./WDJ
