The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), during their regular session yesterday, passed a resolution requesting the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) to disseminate information and enact preventative measures regarding Japanese encephalitis.
According to Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial, the country has recorded a total 133 cases of the infection between January and August of 2017.
“Cases this year are lower than last year,” she affirmed.
Based on the legislation, authored by City Councilor Em Ang, the necessity to disseminate information will “prevent a possible outbreak.”/WDJ
