Two people were arrested by police, while another escaped, after anti-drug operatives from the Kabankalan City Police Station raided a suspected drug den along Tayum Street, Barangay 4, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Wednesday morning.
Police identified the arrested individuals as Jenalyn Zamora, 24, and Jessica Zamora, 47, both residents of the said barangay.
A third suspect, identified only as ‘Rensoy’ Castañares evaded capture.
Based on a report released by Kabankalan City police deputy, Police Senior Inspector Jerald Muya, the primary target of the operation was Jenalyn, while Jessica was arrested as she conspired with Jenalyn in the sale of one elongated sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop.
Castañares was seen inside the drug den using illegal drugs when cops entered the premises. He escaped through the back door of the house.
A search of the premises further yielded 30 elongated and one big sachet of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, the P200 buy-bust money, and P1,562 worth of suspected drug money.
Muya said the value of the seized illegal drugs is P35,000.
Both Jenalyn and Jessica face illegal drugs charges and are presently detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station. Meanwhile, Castañares is still being hunted down by police./DGB, WDJ
