Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. yesterday granted a P1 million reward to the confidential informant and the arresting police team that terminated top Western Visayas drug lord Richard ‘Buang’ Prevendido.

The informant will receive half of the amount; while the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), led by Police Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, gets the other half.

Defensor hailed the police for their intelligence work and the aggressive manhunt operation.

He also urged the public to continue supporting the campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality.

It was previously reported that the Iloilo City Council recently passed a resolution lauding the efforts by local law enforcement.

The Iloilo Provincial Board also recognized the IPPO and Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) Intelligence Division for the successful apprehension and neutralization of the notorious drug lord./JAN, WDJ
