Teachers injured following collision along the Airport Access Road

Thirteen Guimbalaon National High School teachers, along with a service driver, were injured after the vehicle they were riding collided with a dump truck along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road, Tuesday morning.

Authorities identified the injured teachers as Mary Rose Napay, Myra Rollo, Melvin Badian, Eduardo Cobrado, Jr., Rhea Gomez, Emily Dusban, Elsa Peñaranda, Ma. Lourdes Gregorio, Catherine Arceo, Neneth Velez, Jennely De la Cruz, Nancy Patron, and Carmenia Gonzaga; along with the service driver Carlos Delotina, a resident of Barangay Guimbalaon, Silay City.

The driver of the dump truck was identified as 34-year-old Nazareno Padernal of Barangay Makiling, Sagay City.

Twelve teachers were sent to Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital for treatment, while Delotina and Patron received treatment at a private hospital in Bacolod City.

Padernal is temporarily detained by police, although settlement negotiations are ongoing./MIS, WDJ
