Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday said he would like to see a new highway to complement the existing coastal road.
“The current coastal road should be widened and developed,” he said.
The governor said the proposed highway should go through less-populated areas, in an effort to develop those parts of the island, and suggested the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) conduct a study.
Marañon said the proposal is an item that should be included in the DPWH regular budget./DGB, WDJ
