Tay Tung rules Milo Olympics-Visayas

With two weeks to go before the opening of the 2017 Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) on September 15, 2017, the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts is sending a strong message to their rivals by dominating the 2017 Milo Olympics Visayas Leg held in Cebu City.

The 2017 Palarong Pambansa high school girls’ volleyball campaigner Thunderbolts swept the University of San Jose-Recoletos in straight sets during the finals, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-23, to claim the U16 volleyball title. The team is mentored by Evelyn Aguillon and assisted by Ian Macariola and Biboy Calamba.
Meanwhile, the Dexter Dy-coached Tay Tung’s junior cagers defended their U16 boys’ basketball crown when they beat University of Visayas-Cebu, while the Atoy Callora- mentored junior Thunderbolts prevailed over Don Bosco Cebu to capture the U12 boys’ championship.
On the other hand, Tay Tung’s U16 athletics girls finished third place overall with five players under Coach Amado Juguan and assistant coach Leah Dano.
The Thunderbolts badminton also finished silver and bronze in the U12 and U16, respectively. The team is coached by Kevin Cioco and assisted by Salvador Diesmo./WDJ
