A woman was killed by two unidentified suspects in Barangay Mckinley, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental early Saturday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 47-year-old Estreleta Templado Estandarte, a resident of Brgy. Mckinley, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
Guihulngan police reported Estandarte was walking along National Road of Brgy. Mckinley going to the Public Market with a friend named Fe Callora Bontigao when two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle wearing black jackets and helmets stopped beside them and shot Estandarte five times.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds on her head and leg.
Witnesses said the suspects came from the south and fled north after the shooting.
Estandarte was immediately brought to the city’s district hospital but was declared dead on arrival by medical staff.
Recovered from the scene of the crime were three cartridges of .45 caliber.
Guihulngan City Police Station is now conducting a follow-up investigation into the identification and possible arrest of suspects./WDJ
