A man was found dead after allegedly being stabbed by his uncle at Paglaum Village, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Thursday evening.
Police identified the fatality as 31-year-old Gil Balistoy, a resident of the said village.
Reports released by Police Station 7 (PS7) said Noven Gasper, the live-in partner of Balistoy, told police the victim was drunk prior to the crime taking place and had been exhibiting anger towards his uncle, identified as 85-year-old Seledo Moreno, which led to a fight.
Gasper added, the rift between Balistoy and his uncle had been going on for awhile.
However, Ofelia Moreno, the wife of Moreno, said there was no such rift and claimed Balistoy was the aggressor in the situation.
Based on an investigation by police, Balistoy allegedly attempted to hack Moreno with a machete; however, the uncle managed to fight back and stabbed Balistoy.
Police are continuing their probe into the incident, while Moreno is currently admitted at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH)./WDJ
