The Bacolod City government is currently considering a proposal to increase the 2018 city budget from P2 billion to P2.2 billion, a two percent boost.
City Councilor Caesar Distrito, who chairs the Committee on Appropriations, said they are expecting a higher budget to cover for the city’s projects for next year, however, he pointed out, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia has yet to submit his proposal.
Distrito noted, the budget proposal should be submitted by October 16.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod is also looking into the possibility of acquiring funds through the Internal Revenue Allotment and from business tax revenue./WDJ
