

BFAR-6 distributed 20 post-harvest kits to the municipality of Bugasong.


The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region VI (BFAR-6), together with the Antique Provincial Agriculture’s Office, recently distributed equipment intended for fisherfolk in 15 municipalities in the province.
“These projects are still part of the DA-BFAR (Department of Agriculture-BFAR) programs in support of the fisherfolk in Antique,” said BFAR-6 Director Remia A. Appari. “More projects will be coming in the next two months of 2017 onwards.”
All 15 municipalities received a 30-footer fiberglass-reinforced plastic patrol boats; while Bugasong also received 20 post-harvest kits; Culasi, Pandan, and Libertad received seaweed farm implements; the Fisherfolk Associations of San Jose and Bugasong received 10 shallow water payao, or artificial reef; and the Roquenians Fisherfolk Association of Anini-y received two rainwater harvesters./WDJ
