After the Philippine national tchoukball teams took fifth place in the women’s division and seventh place in the men’s division of the 2nd World Beach Tchoukball Championships, which concluded last week in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Tchoukball Association of the Philippines (TAP) President Raymund Jamelo said both teams faced challenges prior to the competition.
“The teams had only a week of solid training together,” he explained. “Forming the young teams for the men and women’s divisions was really a big challenge to our coaching staff.”
“The long term goal is to expose these young players to international tournaments to gain enough experience playing with the best in the world,” Jamelo added./WDJ
