Redeemer Sports is a non-profit Filipino-American organization that partners with Christian churches to share both the love for sports and faith in Jesus Christ. The Texas-based organization currently has chapters in Bacolod City, Victorias City, and Cadiz City.
The organization hopes to establish itself in Murcia soon.
According to Bacolod City chapter head coach ‘Bimbim,’ the target age range for participants is between 14 and 18 years old, with activities including bible study and morning basketball practice every Saturday.
He noted, in terms of having Bible studies prior to playing basketball, “Through these sacred sessions, our young basketball players have the opportunity to get to know Jesus by reading His words in the Bible and comprehend His teachings.”
“They will be able to apply these teachings in every life circumstance, whether it may be a basketball tournament wherein they need to learn how to work as a team, or a family problem that one cannot solve,” the coach added./WDJ
