The back rider of a motorcycle died following a vehicular accident along the national road at Hacienda Nalipay, Barangay 5, Isabela, Negros Occidental, late Sunday evening.
The driver of the said motorcycle suffered injuries resulting from the incident.
Police identified the fatality as 70-year-old Rogelio Borromeo and the injured as 42-year-old Lester Borromeo, both are residents of Barangay Panaquiao in the said town.
Traffic investigators from the Isabela Municipal Police Station said Lester was driving the motorcycle, with Rogelio as his back rider, heading south when they accidentally fell into a canal.
Both victims suffered injuries to different parts of their bodies and were brought to Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital for medical treatment.
The elder Borromeo later succumbed to his injuries, while the younger was transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for further treatment./WDJ
