A suspected burglar was arrested by police after he allegedly tried to steal the San Sebastian Cathedral donation box, last Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Gregory Reatasan, a resident of Purok Kawayanan, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.
Investigators from Police Station 1 (PS1) said the complainant, identified as Noel Maylas, a camera operator of the said church, visited their station and reported Reatasan after catching him in the act of stealing the contents of the donation box.
Maylas said he saw Reatasan by the donation box around 7:00 p.m. and, when he attempted to commit the burglary, Maylas stopped the suspect.
The suspect may face attempted robbery charges and is currently detained at PS1./WDJ
