Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) spokesperson, Police Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, said he expected a smooth transition for the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) as they return as part of Region 6, following the recent signing of Executive Order No. 38, which dissolved the Negros Island Region (NIR).
He said it has only been two years since the establishment of Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) and the two offices will be returning to the old administrative and operational structure.
In terms of personnel, Gorero believes Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters are currently working on a plan.
It was previously reported, PRO-18 spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, said they are saddened by the region’s abolition, but are prepared to follow orders from national headquarters in Camp Crame./WDJ
