Team Pilipinas left yesterday for Kaohsiung, Taiwan to compete in the 2nd World Beach Tchoukball Championships, which is scheduled to run from August 14 to 18.
The 21-member team includes several players from Bacolod City.
The men’s team features player-coach John Elray Jamelo, assistant coach-player Benjie Oray, Rik Aldrei Despojo, and Josiah Su; while the women’s side includes team captain Nadine Julia Crisostomo, Mary Abelarde, Ashley Julienne Pedregosa, and Ivanna Aguilar.
The competition will see 14 teams from around the world competing in the men’s event, while the women’s side has nine countries contending for the title.
Additionally, within the tournament schedule, the Federación Internacional de Tchoukball general assembly will take place, expected to be attended by 33 member-countries./WDJ
