Regional airline company Air Juan will be serving the airport, with aircraft that can accommodate nine passengers per flight.
Following the opening, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. vowed to develop facilities by cementing the runway and improving the terminal building.
Plans are also in the works to add flights to Dumaguete City, Malay in Aklan, Manila, along with locations in the provinces of Palawan and Bohol.
The governor added, the airport will improve the city’s business revenues and agricultural sector./WDJ
