Two minors were apprehended by police after they were caught in possession of marijuana on the campus of a school in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Monday morning.
Police refused to reveal the identities of the suspects as they are minors, although they confirmed the suspects are both residents of the said city.
Reports by the Silay City Police Station said the suspects were endorsed to the station after operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) responded to a call claiming two students were being held by the school for marijuana possession, where documentation of the contraband was performed.
Confiscated from the suspects were suspected ground marijuana leaves, with an estimated street value of P400; a disposable lighter; and supposed rolling paper.
The confiscated marijuana leaves were sent to the Regional Crime Laboratory for further examination, while the minors were transferred to the local Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)./WDJ
