La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor Mangilimutan recently confirmed Police Chief Inspector Irma Teozon is the new local chief of police, replacing Police Chief Inspector Joshua Villasis, who was appointed by former Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) director, Police Chief Superintendent Renato Gumban.
Back in May, following the sacking of then-La Castellana police chief, Police Chief Inspector Gary Alan Resuma, Gumban appointed Villasis while the mayor was on official leave.
At the time, Mangilimutan noted procedure was not followed in the appointment process.
“They relieved my police chief without me knowing about it,” the mayor stated.
According to an article published earlier this year, Mangilimutan insisted she had the right to select her own police chief, but said she had no choice but to accept Villasis./WDJ
