The Bacolod City government yesterday announced Araneta-Magsaysay Streets would be closed as the ongoing construction of a flyover enters its next phase.
According to Bacolod City Administrator John Orola, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) requested the roads closed from August 7 to 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day.
He added, the closure is necessary as DPWH begins installing heavy steel supports for the flyover.
Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head, Police Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, meanwhile, advised motorists to use alternate routes, naming Lacson Extension as an example, in order to avoid any inconvenience.
Bacolod Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya earlier noted construction of the flyover is on schedule, with a projected completion in November of this year./WDJ
