A three-day seminar focused on information, education, and communication (IEC) opened earlier this week by the Department of Education (DepEd) schools division.
The program aims to develop a better understanding of DepEd programs.
On opening day, communication strategy was discussed by television media practitioner Marty Go, Dr. Ernesto Malvas, and Marsha Montalvo of the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod.
In addition, DepEd Senior Education Program Specialist Celestino Nifras, Jr. spoke on social mobilization, while Lorenzo Lambatin of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) talked about media relations.
The following day, Carlson Alelis discussed organizing press conferences, while Easter Anne Doza talked about IEC advocacy tools, both are from PIA.
Meanwhile, DepEd-Bacolod Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Mitchell Acuyong discussed social marketing.
Today, July 29, a committee will discuss information protocol and formulate an IEC advocacy plan for the Bacolod schools division./WDJ
